Upon meeting five years ago when Jesse was working at JarrBar and Keaton at DeLaurenti, they started talking about opening up a bar together. The idea was pretty simple; to create the feeling of community that one finds in a neighborhood bar, but in downtown. Balancing high quality food and drink with welcoming customer service and approachability was something that truly spoke to them both. In August in 2018, they took over an old bar in Pioneer Square and remodeled the space themselves, opening up fully just a few months later towards the end of October. By the following summer, it seemed as if they were getting in stride. But then a water pipe burst in the building and they were forced to close down while repairs and upgrades were being made to the space. Now, after almost fourteen months of closure, here they are at it again. The thought is not that they are starting over from scratch. Moreover, it is an opportunity to apply all that was learned over the last couple of years, and take this opportunity to expand on what it was they were doing before, and combining it with a renewed sense of creativity and excitement in being able to serve their community again.
